The Fox's Den

Early spring
takes a determined look
at winter’s abuses,
the long nights circling
round and round
evasive thoughts.

Warmer days and
rebirth myths
begin,
yet forgiveness and redemption
remain aloof, hiding with the hare,
the fox at twilight the approaching
scans & labs.

Early blooming daffodils
seem reluctant to brighten the woods,
I shrug,
enjoying their yellow splashes at days end.
